TSN - The Sports Network featured SNN's coverage of Winter Games on its site during February and March 1999, including stories by students from several schools.

On February 19, 1999, the Canadian Press made reference to SNN's live Webcast at the Canada Winter Games in a story by Michelle MacAfee called Winter Games set to start.

Gary Kean of the Western Star in Corner Brook interviewed three SNN reporters about their coverage of the Canada Winter Games. He wrote a story called Students hosting live broadcast of Games opening ceremonies for the February 20, 1999 edition of the paper.

SNN was named the Canuck Site of the Day for February 2, 1999.

In the November/December 1998 issue of Sympatico NetLife, the SchoolNet News Network received a four-star rating in the Kids and Teens section, making it one of the magazine's "Top Sites".
